22.

-
What temperature should I keep my beer at?
Between 1 and 3 degrees Celsius is best for most beers, make sure you keep a
thermometer in your fridge at all times.
-
How long should I gas my beer for?
For 18L kegs that are cold i.e. been in the fridge for 2 days 230 kpa for 48
hrs. For 18L kegs that are warm i.e. just been put in the fridge 250 kpa for
48 hrs.
-
What is the right dispensing pressure?
For a beer tap or beer gun with 2 metres of 4mm internal diameter line
100kpa would work well, the larger the internal diameter of the line the
greater the line length will have to be to deliver the same results as 2
metres of 4mm internal diameter line.
-
My beer is flat! Even after gassing for the
appropriate time!
Check your fridge temperature; it should be between 1 and 3 degrees Celsius,
if the fridge is too warm i.e. 4C and above gas absorption will be very
slow, also if the fridge Is too cold i.e. to the point that you freeze the
beer giving the same result, next to no gas absorption.
-
All I am pouring is head! Even after gassing for
the appropriate time!
If you’re sure it’s gassed for the right amount of time and pressure I would
say your fridge is too warm, keep it below 4C, or it could be your
dispensing pressure is not right. (see question 3)
-
Should I leave the gas turned on all the time?
No, only if your carbonating or dispensing.
-
Why are there gas bubbles in my beer line?
Either you do not have enough head pressure over the beer, the fridge is too
warm or the beer is over carbonated.
-
How often should I clean my beer line?
Clean the beer line when you clean the keg.
-
Why is the first beer I pour always very heady?
The tap is at a higher
temp than the beer running through it, you will have noticed that the next
beer poured a lot better i.e. the tap is reaching the same temp as the beer.
-
How do I stop my mates from drinking all my
beer?
Give them our web
address.
-
What method of payment do
you accept?
We accept PayPal & Direct Deposit payments.
Paypal is used as a third party merchant which means we do not receive any
of your personal information. PayPal is quickly becoming a popular internet
tool that many major companies use for online transactions and can be used
to process bank account payments as well as credit cards. If you are paying
by direct deposit, please ensure you use your order reference number or
surname as the reference so we can track payments and avoid delayed shipment
of your order.
-
Do you accept Credit Cards?
Yes - via PayPal you can pay via Visa & MasterCard.
-
How much is postage?
Postage costs are calculated using the Australia Post
Calculator based on weight and destination. You will be able to view your
postage costs before completing checkout. Each order also incurs a $3.50
packaging and handling fee.
-
Is the Uni Star Beer Gun
the same as other beer guns?
Basically yes, it delivers beer into your glass.
However the other beer guns were design back in the early 1960’s, we now
have a beer gun designed this century. The main design features of the Uni
Star beer gun are, light weight construction, easily connected beer line,
modern design and smooth pouring action with a glass friendly spout.
-
What dimensions are your kegs?
The 9L keg is 230mm
diameter x 340mm high over all. The 18L keg is
210mm diameter x 630mm high over all.
-
How do I find out postal
charges without placing an order?
Please
fill out the order form following all instructions, it will give you the
postal cost for the item and you can then choose to submit/add to or
cancel your order.
-
How do I use the Flow Control
tap?
First - the flow control will need to be in the
fully close position. To do this the knurled (finger grip) adjustment nut
needs to be screwed clockwise until it stops. Make sure this is done lightly
without any great force (we suggest thumb and forefinger only). With the tap
pulled to the on position, slowly adjust the knurled adjustment nut
anti-clockwise until a constant flow is achieved - the first glass will foam
because the tap must be cooled down before it will perform correctly. Start
with a slow pour until you become confident. You should be able to fill a
glass without excessive foam and no waste. Remember - the glass must be
tilted at all times throughout the pour. Once you are happy with the pour,
no further adjustment is required. Remember each time you wish to drink
beer, the gas should be turned on and remain on for the duration of the
drinking session and then turned off once you have finished to avoid over
carbonation of the beer.
-
I am paying by direct deposit - what should I use as my
reference?
If you are
paying by direct deposit, please ensure you use your order reference number
or surname as the reference so we can track payments and avoid delayed
shipment of your order. By using product names (eg: 2 x kegs) it makes it
hard for us to know who is making the payment as we sell lots of the
same products every day.
-
Do I need an account to pay via PayPal?
You do not require an account with PayPal to process
your payment however we have had some customers who have some difficulty
processing their credit cards. As PayPal is a rapidly growing business, we
recommend you do join as it makes the process much easier for yourself. By
having an account, you simply log in using your details, and it will
remember your payment details (bank account & credit card information) for
you - all you need to then do, is approve the payment. We do not receive any
of your personal information at any time from PayPal - it is kept on their
secure server at all times.
-
I have placed an order, but realised i can't
make the payment transfer today - how long do I have to pay??
We will only ever keep an order in our
system for 7 days after being ordered. If no payment has been received, and
we have had no contact from the buyer, we will assume the order is
cancelled. If you find there is some delay in your payment - please contact
us immediately, or wait and place your order once you are capable of making
the payment.

Where do I get a CO2 cylinder & what size?
Lets deal with size first, we would recommend
between a 6kg to 10kg cylinder of Food Grade CO2, there are smaller & larger
cylinders on offer but around this size is practical for home brewers
however what is on offer in your area will be the deciding factor. You have
a choice whether to own or rent if you want to own the cylinder outright
then we recommend
www.mykegonlegs.com.au check out the website for the closest location.
If you want to rent then there are three companies to choose from however
again it depends on which company is represented in your area so we would
recommend any of the following:
https://boc.com.au
http://www.supagas.com.au
http://www.au.airliquide.com
Lastly CO2 can kill you so down load the safety data sheet and follow the
safe handling instructions from your chosen supply company.
